SWEEPINGS
Sweeping shadows from the snow.
A moment frozen in time.
SWEEPINGS
2005 - Present *not photo-shopped
Snow acts as a perfect canvas - it is white, pristine, flawless. The act of removal snow where a shadow falls creates a secondary darkness - first the shadow, then the grass or ground beneath.
This is a landscape drawing, an intervention/installation in public space, as well as a document of that exact moment - the angle of the sun or light source, position of the Earth, lie of the snow, my presence in the space, and a dash of inspiration.

I have completed many, many sweepings over the years. These are a small sample.
